ANNUAL SPRING LIADA MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Sunday June 13, 2004 at the home of Muriel and Mark Finkel, 662 Howard Ave, West Hempstead, NY 11552 from 11 AM – 1 PM.  Brunch will be served.  Call (516) 538-9882 to RSVP and to obtain driving directions.

The meeting will focus on the upcoming Presidential election, and on local and state issues.  We are delighted that our guest speaker will be the Honorable Phil Ramos, New York State  Assemblyman for the 6th Assembly District.

Phil Ramos was born in the Bronx. The son of a correction officer and a registered nurse, Phil learned at an early age the value of helping people and being dedicated to your community. His family was one of the first Hispanic families to move to Brentwood in 1957 – where he has lived for the past 45 years – raising his two children and working tirelessly on behalf of the community.  Phil recently retired from the Suffolk County Police Department, after 20 years of dedicated service. He rose through the ranks of the department – retiring as a Detective.

As a New York State Assemblyman Phil Ramos has worked hard to secure Affordable Housing on Long Island (see the LIADA letter writing initiative in this newsletter), improve employment and business opportunities, upgrade education programs, and protect the environment.

Please make every effort to attend this important meeting, and to meet Phil Ramos.
