LIADA is The Long Island Chapter of Americans for Democratic Action whose members live in Nassau and western Suffolk counties of New York State. Our main activities are interviewing, endorsing, and contributing to progressive candidates for public office and holding educational forums on topical issues.

ADA , the Americans for Democratic Action, is the nation's oldest independent liberal political organization, dedicated to individual liberty and building economic and social justice at home and abroad. Since 1947 it has led public opinion and coalitions by taking early, principled stands on a broad range of domestic, foreign, economic, military, social, and environmental issues.

ADA has written continuously updated policy resolutions on foreign and military policy, energy and the environment, economic policy, social and domestic policy, and politics and government.
